Tennis Ireland has announced a significant new partnership with AIG, welcoming the global insurer as a premium partner under a new commercial partnership agreement.
As part of the new collaboration, AIG has introduced a specialised Tennis Club Insurance product, offering tailored and cost-effective cover explicitly designed for tennis clubs.
The new product addresses a range of risks unique to the sport and its infrastructure, including cover for club premises such as bubbles, domes, and floodlights, as well as business interruption, cyber incidents, liability, and personal accident insurance.
Developed by AIG, the product will be distributed exclusively by Brown & Brown, one of Ireland’s leading insurance brokers. The arrangement positions Brown & Brown as the sole broker for a comprehensive and customised insurance solution designed to meet the needs of tennis clubs nationwide.
It echoes a similar relationship that AIG has with Golf Ireland.
John Gillick, Head of Consumer Marketing and Partnerships at AIG, welcomed the deepening relationship with Tennis Ireland.
“AIG Ireland is delighted to deepen our partnership with Tennis Ireland with the launch of a number of new innovative insurance solutions for individual tennis members, coaches and clubs across Ireland,” he said.
“We look forward to continuing our work with Kevin Quinn and the team at Tennis Ireland to help provide coverage to the Irish tennis community and its members so they can move forward with confidence.”
Kevin Quinn, CEO of Tennis Ireland, echoed this enthusiasm, highlighting the practical value the partnership brings to the sport.
“We’re delighted to welcome AIG as a Premium Partner to Tennis Ireland and to partner with AIG and Brown & Brown to provide a custom and cost-effective insurance product for our clubs,” he added.
“This product addresses real challenges for our clubs, many of which are run by volunteers. It’s a practical step that strengthens our tennis ecosystem and offers genuine value to our network of over 190 tennis clubs across the island.”
AIG is the sponsor of the AIG Irish Tennis Open for both Men and Women, as well as being a strong commercial partner of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, Badminton Ireland, Basketball Ireland, Triathlon Ireland, Hockey Ireland and the Sport for Business AIG 50 Women of Influence in Irish Sport listing which will return in September.
