We are still in the middle of perhaps the closest and most divisive election in modern history, and now we have to make an important call in Ireland

OK, it may not have quite the same democratic heft of the race for the White House but NOW TV, Sky’s pay as you go streaming service is asking us to choose between Hurl or Hurley.

It has exercised those to whom it matters intensely, perhaps since the days of Cú Chullain and not unlike America, the result of a vote may not change many minds but here we go.

Wexford hurler Lee Chin, pictured above, and Tipperary hurler Seamus Callanan have hit the campaign trail as they kicked off the campaign which will see the nation vote on what is the definitive term for a hurler’s most prized possession.

The two All-Stars were pushed into the qualifiers last weekend which may restrict their time on the hustings.  Liam Sheedy and Davy Fitgerald will be keen to get them into skills and drills rather than climbing ladders but the imagery of Ramsey Cardy at Sportsfile will go a long way to push the case on social media.

Lee is backing Hurl and Séamus is putting his support behind Hurley. To have your say visit HurlvHurley.com where you can cast your vote right now.

The result of the poll will be revealed to the public on November 12th.
