Athletics Ireland has expanded its partnership with adidas into the consumer market, launching its first official adidas x Athletics Ireland supporters’ collection through an exclusive retail agreement with INTERSPORT Elverys.

The new “Power to Move” range includes supporter apparel, training clothing and lifestyle pieces inspired by the kit worn by Ireland’s international athletes.

It is available exclusively through the INTERSPORT Elverys website, at its Dundrum and Blanchardstown stores, and from a dedicated retail presence at this weekend’s 123.ie National Senior Track and Field Championships at Morton Stadium.

The launch represents the next commercial phase of Athletics Ireland’s relationship with adidas.

The sportswear company became the governing body’s official kit supplier at the beginning of 2025 under a long-term agreement covering teamwear and performance apparel for athletes representing Ireland at major international championships.

That initial agreement was primarily centred on equipping the national team. The INTERSPORT Elverys arrangement now extends the partnership directly to supporters, allowing Athletics Ireland to build a more visible consumer identity around the green kit worn by its leading athletes.

Sarah Lavin and Cian McPhillips have been used to model the new collection, connecting the range with two of the athletes who will be among the leading attractions at Morton Stadium this weekend.

The retail partnership also gives Athletics Ireland access to an established national sportswear platform rather than requiring the governing body to manage stock, fulfilment and customer service directly.

INTERSPORT Elverys already has a strong presence within Irish running and previously worked with Athletics Ireland on the Get Ireland Running participation campaign. The retailer has also featured Irish athletes including Sophie O’Sullivan in its consumer marketing.

Launching the collection alongside the National Championships creates an opportunity to bring together the performance and commercial sides of the Athletics Ireland brand.

The 154th edition of the Championships takes place on Saturday and Sunday, July 25th and 26th, with Mark English, Cian McPhillips, Sarah Healy, Sophie O’Sullivan, Sarah Lavin, Sharlene Mawdsley and Nicola Tuthill among the leading entries.

Rhasidat Adeleke is also entered in the women’s 200 metres as athletes continue preparations and qualification efforts ahead of next month’s European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

Both days of competition will be streamed through the Athletics Ireland YouTube channel, with RTÉ broadcasting live coverage from 6 pm on Sunday.

Sport for Business Perspective

The presence of the collection at Morton Stadium will allow Athletics Ireland and its commercial partners to test the appetite for official merchandise among the sport’s most committed audience.

It also provides adidas with a broader activation of its kit partnership, moving beyond exposure through elite competition and into training, leisurewear and supporter culture.

For Athletics Ireland, the ambition will be to turn the growing profile of Irish athletes into a more tangible connection between the national team, the country’s clubs and the wider recreational running community.

The adidas partnership began during one of the strongest periods in the sport’s recent history. Athletics Ireland currently represents more than 70,000 members across 365 affiliated clubs, giving the new retail range a substantial potential audience before accounting for Ireland’s wider running community.

Making an official national range readily available is a relatively straightforward commercial development, but an important one.

The athletes have given Irish athletics an increasingly recognisable public identity. Athletics Ireland, adidas and INTERSPORT Elverys are now giving supporters an opportunity to wear it.
