BOYLE Sports has launched a new Squad Builder feature ahead of the 2026/27 English Premier League football season, extending its investment in player-led betting products after a successful trial during this summer’s World Cup.

The new feature allows customers to select between two and five players, either from the same fixture or across different matches, with each player contributing towards a combined statistical target.

Seven player-stat markets are available, spanning attacking and defensive performance as well as disciplinary measures. These include goals, assists, shots, tackles and cards.

The distinction from a traditional bet builder is that individual players do not necessarily have to deliver a specific outcome themselves. Instead, the selected squad works collectively towards the overall target.

For example, rather than requiring a particular player to record a set number of shots or tackles, customers can select a group of players whose combined contributions determine whether the selection is successful.

BOYLE Sports is also offering a selection of pre-built squads as a more accessible entry point to the product.

The bookmaker’s existing Sub Swap feature will be incorporated into Squad Builder. Where a selected player is substituted, their replacement can continue contributing towards the squad target, keeping the selection active.

“Squad Builder gives football fans a brand-new way to back themselves,” said Adam Matues, Head of Sportsbook at BOYLE Sports.

“While traditional betbuilders tie specific players to certain outcomes, Squad Builder allows a chosen squad to all contribute towards shared stats targets.

“Millions of fans pick teams every week because they enjoy weighing up form, roles and the players who can make a difference. Squad Builder brings that same instinct into a new format, giving customers more freedom to shape the selection their own way, through single or multi-match squads.”

The launch comes as betting operators increasingly look to player statistics, live data, and more customisable products to differentiate their football offerings.

Sport for Business Perspective

This is an interesting piece of product innovation from BOYLE Sports, taking something football supporters already understand instinctively — selecting a team — and applying it to player-performance markets.

The World Cup testing period will have given the company useful insight into how customers interacted with the format before the wider launch.

The incorporation of Sub Swap is particularly important. Player substitutions have traditionally been a source of frustration in individual-player betting markets, and carrying the selection over to the replacement player removes one of those potential friction points.

With so many operators competing around broadly similar match markets, innovation in how data, players and selections are packaged for customers is becoming an increasingly significant part of the battleground.
