Clover has continued its partnership with Naas GAA as main sponsor of the club’s senior footballers for a second consecutive year, with a new jersey unveiled ahead of the 2026 Kildare Senior Football Championship.

The new kit was launched during the McDonald’s Naas Senior Football Camp, bringing senior players together with younger members of the club ahead of the start of their Championship campaign.

Clover is the payments, point-of-sale and business management platform operated by Fiserv, and the continuation of the sponsorship builds on the company’s longstanding commercial relationship with Naas GAA.

Fiserv’s connection with AIB Merchant Services dates back through its 2019 acquisition of First Data, which was the majority shareholder in AIB Merchant Services. Fiserv subsequently agreed in 2025 to acquire AIB’s remaining 49.9 per cent interest in the business.

“Clover is delighted to continue its support of Naas GAA and sponsorship of the senior football team,” said Jonathan Mahon, Commercial Director at Fiserv.

“Partnerships like this are about more than displaying a logo on a jersey. They are about supporting clubs that play an important role in their local communities and creating opportunities for players of all ages.

“Naas GAA has a strong tradition, a dedicated volunteer network and an excellent reputation for developing talent, and we’re proud to continue supporting the club as it enters another championship campaign.”

The launch at the club’s summer football camp provided a strong community backdrop for the sponsorship, linking the senior team and its commercial backing with the next generation of players.

Naas Senior Football captain Eoin Doyle said the support of commercial partners played an important role in enabling the team to prepare and compete.

“It’s particularly fitting to launch the jersey during our Summer Camp, alongside so many young footballers who represent the future of our club,” he said.

“We are looking forward to wearing the jersey on Friday and representing everyone associated with Naas GAA throughout the Championship.”

The jersey will make its competitive debut this evening when Naas face local rivals Moorefield in the opening round of the Joe Mallon Motors Kildare Senior Football Championship.

The Group D fixture throws in at 7.45 pm at Cedral St Conleth’s Park in Newbridge.

Clover also features prominently through Fiserv’s partnership with Tipperary GAA, where the brand appears on the county jersey.

At club level, the Naas partnership demonstrates the value for brands of combining senior-team visibility with community and underage engagement, with the decision to launch the new jersey at the football camp providing a natural connection between both elements of the sponsorship.

Sport for Business Perspective

The strongest club sponsorships increasingly extend beyond the visibility delivered by the senior jersey.

Naas has used the launch well by placing it within a week centred on young players and the wider club community, while Clover gains association with both a leading senior football team and the grassroots structures underpinning it.

The renewal for a second year also adds greater value to the relationship. Continuity allows a sponsor to become recognised as part of the club rather than simply as another name appearing on a shirt for a season.

For Fiserv, it also complements a broader commitment to Gaelic Games through the Clover brand and demonstrates how national-scale businesses can use local partnerships to build relevance within the communities in which they operate.

Throughout the Club Championship season, we will regularly look at clubs making smart choices in local sponsorship, often with major global or national brands.
