The Irish Athletic Boxing Association has appointed Branding Sport to design a new visual identity as the organisation seeks to modernise its image and strengthen its connection with athletes, clubs, and fans nationwide.
The appointment comes at a time when Irish boxing continues to enjoy success on the international stage, with Olympic medals and strong participation levels at the grassroots level. A 17-strong Team is competing at the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool throughout this week.
The rebrand is expected to deliver a refreshed logo, visual style, and communications framework that reflect both the proud heritage of Irish boxing and its ambitions for the future.
Both the IABA and Branding Sport are members of Sport for Business. Branding Sport has previously been instrumental in creating new visual identities for the Olympic Federation of Ireland, Tennis Ireland, Volleyball Ireland, and others.
“Boxing has always held a special place in Irish sport, and our new identity will reflect that passion while also positioning the IABA for the years ahead,” said IABA CEO, Gary Stewart.
“We’re delighted to be working with Branding Sport, who understand the balance between tradition and innovation and who will help us tell our story in a powerful new way.”
“The IABA is one of Ireland’s most historic sporting organisations, and its impact is felt at every level of society, from world-class champions to community clubs,” added Patrick Murphy, CEO of Branding Sport.
“Our goal is to create an identity that honours that heritage while giving the association a bold and contemporary look for the future.”
The design process will begin immediately, with consultation planned across IABA stakeholders, including clubs, athletes and officials, to ensure the new identity reflects the full breadth of Irish boxing.
The new identity will ultimately be rolled out across IABA’s competitions, clubs, and digital platforms.
