“It is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Rugbypass,” Britchfield told Sport for Business.
“Within my new role, I will be looking to grow the commercial revenue stream by creating strategic partnerships with media agencies and brands across Ireland and the UK and helping brands reach a very engaged audience.”
“Our expertise in the world of production sets us apart from others. We are the worlds largest independent producer of rugby content. We have a global team of more than 40 rugby writers and video producers, with Content Hubs in Cape Town, Auckland, Singapore and Dublin, supported by teams across UK, Australia, US and Asia.”
“We are investing millions of euros annually in original video and editorial content, produced by rugby fans for rugby fans. As you will see with the content on rugbypass we are also continually experimenting with dozens of new rugby programming formats, crossing into travel, lifestyle, history, education and much more.”
“Because of our background as a broadcaster, we are experts in producing platform-specific formats for social, web and TV distribution.”
“In terms of leaving eir sport, I was there just over 6 years and it was an amazing experience,” added Britchfield who featured in our Sport for Business 30 Under 30 with PwC in 2018.
“I had the opportunity to learn from some of the best marketers in the business from Brian Quinn who as a mentor gave me my chance in the world of sports broadcasting and was one of the best teachers to have, to Henry Dummer now CMO of Bank of Ireland and more recently Oisin Masterson one of the best brand marketers I have had the privilege to work for.”
“When this opportunity presented itself, I just felt it was too good an opportunity to pass up. I am so excited about the vision of RugbyPass and looking forward to the next few years. It’s a different role for me but one I am very much looking forward to.”
