eir has been announced as the official telco partner of the Camogie Association and new sponsor of the Camogie u16 All-Ireland Championships for the next three years.
The partnership marks another significant milestone in eir’s long-standing commitment to Irish sport and strengthens its connections with local communities across the island of Ireland.
The brand is currently one of the main sponsors of the All Ireland Hurling Championship and is in the second year of a five-year deal. It has been a GAA partner since 2011.
It joins AIB, PwC, Allianz, and Electric Ireland, which have partnerships across the GAA and the Camogie Association, and Glen Dimplex, Very, and Evoke, which have stand-alone partnerships with the Camogie Association.
The three-year agreement, commencing with the upcoming season, reflects eir’s continued investment in grassroots initiatives as well as its commitment to advancing women’s sport.
“At eir, our purpose is to connect for a better Ireland, and one of the ways we achieve this is by building long-term partnerships within our communities,” said Susan Brady, Managing Director of Consumer and Small Business at eir.
“We are delighted to expand our collaboration with the GAA and support the growth of Camogie, raising the profile of women’s sports across Ireland. As the official telecommunications partner of the Camogie Association and sponsor of the U16 All-Ireland Championships, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of sporting heroes and role models.”
“This partnership not only underscores our belief in the power of sport to unite communities but also highlights our dedication to supporting women and girls in sport at every level. At eir, inclusivity and equality are core to everything we do, and we are proud to stand alongside these young athletes as they continue to defy expectations and inspire future generations.”
“Camogie embodies the resilience, teamwork, and sense of community that reflect our core brand values. As we invest €250 million annually to expand Ireland’s largest Gigabit fibre broadband network and best available 5G mobile network, we empower communities nationwide. We are proud to bring superfast connectivity to every county, helping to bridge the digital divide and support local growth.”
“Since 2011, eir has been a steadfast supporter of the GAA, and this expanded partnership will be a great boost for the development of camogie,” added Camogie Association President Brian Molloy.
“With eir’s support, we look forward to expanding the visibility and exposure the U16 Camogie Championship to an even wider audience, ensuring the continued growth of camogie and providing a platform for the sport’s talented young players to thrive.”
eir’s commitment to supporting local communities through inclusive sports has been a core part of its mission, starting with its sponsorship of Special Olympics Ireland.
As one of Europe’s longest-running corporate partnerships, eir’s support extends to the Special Olympics Young Athlete Programme, which enables children with intellectual disabilities to participate in sports. This initiative helps build confidence and instils essential life skills from an early age, reflecting eir’s dedication to fostering inclusivity and empowerment through sport.”
