Lynne Cantwell and Paraic Duffy have both been re-appointed to the Board of Sport Ireland for a second term.

Cantwell is currently preparing South Africa for the Women’s XV tournament in Rugby as Head of Women’s Rugby in that country and is a decorated former Irish international. Duffy is the highly respected long standing former Director General of the GAA>

The announcement of the appointments was made jointly by Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin, and Minister of State for Sport and Physical Education, Thomas Byrne.

“Lynne and Páraic have already made a valuable contribution to the work of Sport Ireland and the development of Irish sport in their first terms on the board and I am very pleased that they have agreed to serve on the board for a further term,” said Martin.

“I want to thank Lynne and Páraic for their service and contribution to date and to congratulate them on their re-appointments. Their wide experience and skills will continue to be hugely beneficial to Sport Ireland and I wish them both well over the next 3 years,” added Byrne.
