Connacht lost their third game in the Heineken Cup on Saturday afternoon as Gloucester picked up only their second away win in all competitions since February.
Gavin Duffy’s try was not enough to overturn a sluggish start but while things were not great on the pitch it was another bumper crowd at the Sports Ground, and with these games and the first season sponsorship of Mazda, Connacht Rugby remains on the rise.
Boss Eric Elwood has targeted the return fixture next week as an opportunity to pick up their first win in Europe’s premier competition.
“We know we mix it with this opposition. Of course they will be a different proposition on their home patch, but the challenge now for us is, ‘Can we do to them next week what they did to us today?,” he said speaking on Sky Sports after the game.
Connacht did pick up their first bonus point of the campaign.
