Cricket Ireland has secured a major new sponsorship with Toyota Ireland coming on board as the organisation’s official car sponsor.Toyota replaces Volkswagen Ireland which had fulfilled a similar role since 2010.The three year deal will see Toyota providing a fleet of vehicles to Cricket Ireland, in support of the operational and business needs of the governing body, in particular to assist in delivering the strategic plan for 2015.
The company will exit its long term partnership with Munster Rugby at the end of this season and the maintenance of a connection with Irish sport, albeit at a reduced level is notable.
Toyota also announced a partnership with the Football Association of the United Arab Emirates yesterday and last year it signed a five year deal as a top level sponsorship partner with Cricket Australia.
The latter deal may well have benefit for Ireland in terms of facilitating increased partnerships between the cricketing authorities in Ireland and Australia.

The Irish team will host England in the RSA Challenge one day match in Malahide on 3rd Sept 2013. There are currently over 34,000 actively participating in cricket in Ireland with 140 Cricket Clubs and over 900 Senior and Junior teams across the island of Ireland.
