We had a great morning at Explorium, chatting from the stage and in the breakout rooms about how collectively we can improve the pathways into sport and physical activity for Children.

We were inspired by Eilis McHugh, Erin Friel, Joe Burke, Ben Sykes, and Chester Enriquez, all medallists at the European Youth Olympic Festival in the summer, who are now back studying for their Leaving Certs and A Levels.

He heard the current and future plans for the FAI, which reach into schools and education through the medium of football, from Niall O’Regan.

Sinéad Ryan blew us all away with the simple power of what she does in Dublin’s inner city for kids who have no home, and who might otherwise have no way of enjoying the joy of play and activity. Brilliant and moving.

Then, it was out into the breakout rooms to tackle six thorny subjects, with a number of elegant solutions that we will share next week and build out within the sports sector over the next 12 months.

Micheál Collins of Sport Ireland shared his positive perspective on safeguarding and the benefits it can bring, including giving voice to children within the system.

Then, three of the winners from the Allianz Dare to Believe PE Expo helped us believe that everything will be alright if we trust the imagination of our children.

The final element marked the soft launch of the Future Sports Forum, an idea conceived at this event in 2025 and eloquently explained by my collaborator on this ambitious plan, Professor Fiona Chambers.

More on all of these areas over the coming days on Sport for Business. Thanks to Allianz for their ongoing support around what we do, and all our speakers and participants for seeing the value in sharing with their peers.
