That was the clear positive message to emerge from the Sport for Business Women in Sport Conference in the studios of RTÉ yesterday.
120 champions and supporters of the importance of maintaining this momentum gathered to hear the perspective of players, sponsors, sporting organisations and campaigners across a range of initiatives.
Later today we will publish a comprehensive look back on the subjects that were covered and the exciting initiatives that are coming down the line.
For now though here is a flavour of how the event was seen by those in the audience.
Always important to acknowledge that these two commercial sponsors have produced landmark research reports, vital for the wider audience – @LibertyIRL’s ‘Wise Up: Exploring Women in Sport in Ireland’ & @lidl_ireland’s ‘State of the Nation: Teenage Girls & Sport’. #SfbWomenInSport pic.twitter.com/cUIt0ZUVcs

Great #KnowledgeBurst from Kerry Jones in @NISportsForum about how their women in sports programmes came about. Opportunities to learn about how different Sports Federations operate are invaluable. #SfbWomenInSport #AllIrelandApproach pic.twitter.com/lpASvVCr0Z

For me, no conversation on progress is complete without @WomensGPA – in only four years, what they’ve done in terms of progress for their own games & in showing others what’s possible, is exemplary. Great to hear new voices today w/ @kinsella_maria & Anne Dalton. #SfbWomenInSport pic.twitter.com/oGSvKoYGP7
