Cadbury Moro GAAThe GAA has agreed with Cadbury on the launch of a new branded edition of the Moro bar to celebrate the firms tenth anniversary of sponsoring the U21 All Ireland Football Championships.

There is a neat link into the ‘family’ of GAA sponsors with the bars being sold exclusively in partnership with Senior All Ireland sponsors Centra and Supervalu.  The deal does not though extend to Tesco, major sponsors of the women’s side of the game, as the Ladies Gaelic Football Association runs as a separate entity.
Cadbury is also running a special social media based competition offering two prize winners the opportunity to travel to Boston on an all expenses paid trip to see the Opel GAA All Stars at the end of the year.
“We are delighted to be introducing the Moro GAA Bar this year to Centra and Supervalu stores nationwide,” said Shane Guest, Senior Brand Manager for Cadbury.
“This year Cadbury is very proud to be celebrating its 10th year in partnership with the GAA as official sponsor of the GAA Football U21 Championship and throughout the ten years the U21 Championship has grown from strength to strength. The U21 Championship has become an integral part of the GAA calendar and Cadbury have supported some of Ireland’s finest up and coming footballers through a range of initiatives, including the Hero of the Future Awards.”
The launch coincides with a Safe Food promotion raising the danger of too many sweets and treats for Children but Peter McKenna of the GAA defended the continued association with Cadbury.
“They are a major Irish employer in Dublin and Kerry,” he said.  “This is a deal which helps  bring together a group of our sponsors in a way that helps their businesses, raises money for the Association to plough back into clubs and counties, and helps us to promote the benefits of an active and healthy lifestyle through sport.”
Cadbury are also renewing the Hero of the Future award presented to one player judged by a panel of experts to have excelled in the competition.  They will get a prize of €1,000 and the same amount for their club.
Over the past ten years Cadbury has helped us bring a hugely important competition to the widest possible audience, said Liam O’Neill, President of the GAA. “I think it is fitting and proper that we should mark the passing of a decade of partnership at a time when the 2014 competition is hotting up after some excellent provincial football involving some of the most promising talent in the game.”
