The President and Director-General of the GAA have written an open letter urging members to behave responsibly over the coming weekends of All Ireland Final action.

They reference the activities of celebration after a number of County Finals and the subsequent shutting down of the Club season.

The letter is being shared across clubs and counties.

The key message is that “We are calling on all of those who support our games and teams to follow the health guidelines, practice social distancing and to exercise caution at all times while watching and indeed after the games.”

“We fully appreciate this is not the norm. In fact, it goes against so much of what our games mean to people.”

“However, it would be a travesty if the huge positive that have been our games would turn out to be a negative in the run-up to Christmas because we abandoned our collective responsibility to play our part.”

All Ireland Finals between Limerick and Waterford, Dublin and Mayo and Dublin and Galway will be held under the umbrella of the GAA while Galway and Camogie will play in the Camogie Decider and Dublin and Cork in the Ladies Football.

All five games will take place over the next eight days.
