Leinster and Ulster made it a weekend to remember for Irish rugby by ensuring the first ever All Ireland Heineken Cup Final on May 19th.
France has produced three ‘national’ finals and England one in the 17 year history of the competition.  Leinster are bidding to become only the second team to retain the trophy and are quoted as hot favourites at odds of 1.25 to do so.  The game will perhaps set another world first in sponsorship with both teams carrying the same sponsor, Bank of Ireland, on their shirts in an international final.
This will be the fourth final to be played at Twickenham and will be the first that an English club has not won at the headquarters of the English game.  The last time it was played there in 2007, Wasps beat Leicester in front of a crowd of over 81,000.
Each province has been assured of 7,500 tickets for the game at Twickenham.  Ulster has announced that season ticket holders have until 5pm on Tuesday to secure a ticket. They will then go on sale to season ticket holders confirmed for next year and then, if any are left, through provincial clubs.  Leinster have not yet announced their arrangements but they are likely to be similar.
Tickets were available on reseller sites last night at between €135 and €1400
