Karl Dunne has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Ireland Active, the Leisure Health and Fitness Association representing 350 members in the sector. Ireland Active also runs Ireland’s National Fitness Day.
Dunne has worked in the area of Sports administration, leisure management and consultancy for over two decades.
During this time, he has held numerous senior roles within the industry most recently in a consultancy capacity, where he played an instrumental role in the development and roll-out of the leisure health and fitness Skillnet to Ireland Active members.
He also brings with him an in-depth working knowledge of the industry having presided over numerous health and leisure facilities in a management capacity.

“This appointment has been made at a key time for our industry as we navigate through difficult times and prepare our next Strategic Plan. Dunne replaces Conn McCluskey who stepped down from the role in 2020
