Irish cricket fans will be able to enjoy watching the world’s number one women’s cricket team, Australia when the recently-crowned T20 World Champions visit Clontarf for a three-match ODI series this July.

The series will be preceded by a six-match tour to the Caribbean for a series against the West Indies and followed by a three-match tour to the Netherlands as Cricket Ireland have now confirmed the Women’s team summer schedule.

The home series against Australia will be the second time in consecutive seasons that the world champions will play in Ireland, having participated in a T20I triangular series in Bready last July with Ireland and Pakistan. It will be the first time since August 2015 when they last played in Dublin (a three-match T20I series at Clontarf). The three matches are part of the ICC Women’s Championship.

“It can’t be underestimated how important participation in the ICC Women’s Championship has been for Ireland – both in attracting top sides to Ireland and playing away in some great, but challenging venues,” said Warren Deutrom, chief executive of Cricket Ireland.

“Combined with their participation in the recently completed T20 World Cup, 2023 is a big year for the squad and they have already demonstrated their potential over the last six months or more.”

“We recently showed in the warm-up win over Australia at the past T20 World Cup, and the nail-biting Group Stage match against the West Indies, that we can compete with the best.”

Tickets will go on sale for the home series against Australia in April.

Ireland Women will face West Indies for a three-match one-day international series, followed by a three-match T20 international series on tour between June 26th and July 9th.
