Olytico’s analysis for August 2025 incorporates over 14,000 posts, 3 million engagements, and close to 10 million views of the Sport for Business organisation’s content on TikTok.
A year ago, the same numbers were 12,000 posts, but six million engagements, and 9.8 million views on TikTok.
Clearly, the evidence suggests that the number of engagements across social media has decreased from its peak; however, this was likely due to the coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
While engagement fell across all platforms, Instagram continues to dominate, generating 1.92 million public engagements, which account for 75% of all engagement across X, Facebook, and Instagram.
Today, in the final instalment of a four-part series on social media metrics from last month, we turn our attention to TikTok.
In the infographics below, we have ranked each organisation across a range of metrics on each network, including the most active, the most engaged with, and the most engaging content, as well as engagements per 1,000 followers where possible.
It is important to note that this analysis is based on publicly available data. It does not include any analysis or insight on paid or promoted content. When % figures are used (unless otherwise stated), they refer to the previous month’s figures.

August 2025 Highlights on TikTok
465 (-5%) TikToks were posted by Sport for Business members in August. These posts resulted in 624,402 engagements (+3%) and 9.9 million views (-19%).
These figures are down slightly in terms of the number of engagements on last year but marginally uop in terms of the number of views.
Only two organisations broke the magic million views for the month – the Ireland Football account with 3.07 million views, and the Ladies Gaelic Football account (1.6 million).
The NIFL topped the activity charts with 128 posts as they asked their fans for their ‘Top 3 25/26’ predictions.

In second, the LGFA (59) honoured greatness with a parade of the 1999 and 2000 Jubilee All-Ireland winning Mayo teams, and in third, Munster gave its players (and some legends) a sneak peak ahead of the release of their new retro inspired Adidas jersey.

They were followed by Ireland Football (12,861) and Basketball Ireland (2,682).
The most engaged with TikTok in August came from Ireland Football, as Ipswich Town fans debuted their new chant for Dara O’Shea – the content has been viewed over 850,000 times on the platform and generated over 70,000 public engagements to date.
