With over 11,300 posts and 4.34 million posts, Olytico’s October 2024 Analysis details an especially impressive month for the League of Ireland accounts.

The analysis includes the title run-in of the SSE Airtricity League of Ireland and plenty more across the different sports that are members of the Sport for Business community.

October 2024 Highlights on X

 

 

Activity on X rose 12% to 5,249 posts and a subsequent 12% rise in engagements to 302,389.

The League of Ireland topped the X activity charts with 732 posts (+12%) as Connor Malley’s sensational strike saw Sligo Rovers take the lead against Derry City (link).

 


In second, Dublin GAA (450, +11%) saw Cuala CLG crowned as Champions for the first time (link).

 


And in third, the GAA (427, +203%) announced the 2024 PwC All-Stars Football Team of the Year (link).

 


Special Olympics Ireland (22, +120%) launched their World Winter Games Team (link)

 


The FAI (180, +29%) brought us the moment Drogheda United booked their spot in the 2024 Sports Direct Men’s FAI Cup Final (link).

 


Despite a 12% decrease in engagements per post, Ireland Football still topped the X engagement charts with an average of 380 engagements per post, and were followed by Irish Rugby (121, -26%) and Leinster Rugby (91, -6%).

The League of Ireland (579) topped the average engagements per 1,000 followers metric.

 

 

The most engaged with content on X in October came from the Ireland Football account, as they remembered Greek footballer George Baldock ahead of their Nations League fixture (link).
