
The games will take place as part of a ‘Fans Tribute Tour’ collectively sponsored by Panasonic. They will be played at Portland on Wednesday, November 28th and at Arizona three days later on Saturday, December 1st.
Both matches will be televised live across the US, with a full pre-game show on the Fox Soccer network. So far in the 10 game series of games hosted to celebrate Olympic Gold, the US has beaten Costa Rica and Australia twice, and drawn two games against their main world rivals Germany.
The two games against Ireland will be followed by a three game series against China in December.
So far the five games in the series have been seen live by an aggregate audience of more than 90,000, who have witnessed an average of 5 goals per game.
Women’s soccer was a major hit at the London Olympic Games with more than 80,000 seeing the final between the USA and Japan at Wembley Stadium.
The Irish squad contains five players who play in the Bus Eireann Women’s National League and all contains players stepping up from the U17 and U19 national teams.
They will be using this as preparation for the qualifying stages for the next World Cup that will get under way in 2013.
