The Lidl National League in Ladies Gaelic Football has been pushed back a week and is now expected to get underway on the weekend of February 20th and 21st.
The decision has been taken in light of the LGFA mirroring the GAA’s postponement of a return to inter-county training until the end of this month.
The Lidl League was due to be shorter in format this year anyway, with three games in a round-robin format in each division and then semi-finals and a final. The closing stages are still planned to take place in late March and early April as per the Master Fixture list which was ratified in December.
Both Ladies Football and Camogie are expecting to adopt a more traditional calendar this year with their finals taking place at Croke Park in September.
The Hurling and Men’s Football Finals are scheduled to take place in July this year with the Club Championships, running all the way to the AIB National finals taking place after their conclusion.
Camogie and Ladies Football will play club matches in between the two periods of Inter-County action.
