New Ireland Assurance will hold the exclusive competition title for nine levels of the Dublin LGFA Adult club championship competitions taking place through summer and autumn.

As part of the sponsorship package New Ireland Assurance will also be the title and competition sponsor of the Dublin LGFA Dub Stars tournament,  an end of season tournament features the the best players from the clubs against a Dublin county selection.

“The club championship is the heartbeat of our organisation and our partnership with New Ireland Assurance will assist Dublin LGFA greatly in the development of club football within the County,” said Chairman Joe Keane speaking at the launch yesterday at DCU.

“I am especially looking forward to working with New Ireland Assurance in the coming months to further promote our championships and in doing so acknowledge the tremendous work being carried out by players, coaches and officials at adult grassroots level.”

“New Ireland Assurance has a long tradition of promoting and supporting Gaelic games in Counties and local communities since our foundation in 1918,” said Brian Sullivan, Head of Financial Advisor Channel with New Ireland Assurance.

“Ladies football in Dublin has seen unprecedented growth in recent years and we hope our new partnership with the county board will help further to promote the game throughout the county.”

At County level Dublin Ladies Football has benefitted from the overall support given by AIG, to a greater extent than in most counties where Ladies Football and Camogie have not been quite so well incorporated into the overall approach.

At National level Lidl have come on board this year as major supporters and promoters of the sport and this is another good example of how strong the growth and appeal of Women’s sport has become.
