We are excited this morning to launch the fourth wave of the Onside Sports Industry Monitor in Collaboration with Sport for Business.
It is hard to believe that we are coming up on one year since the first survey undertaken to see what the immediate impact of the first lockdown was on us all as leaders within sport and the surrounding areas of sponsorship, agency, education and Government.
Over three waves we were able to build a picture of how we felt about the bouncing back of our corner of society.
That picture was a key element in how many members of the Sport for Business community were able to judge their own thoughts against the anonymised benchmark of their peers.
We have heard of many occasions where the insight gained was able to shape and at times change the way that brands and sporting bodies were positioning themselves.
It has been said that Covid put us in a position where there was no playbook on how to recover. This research helped to fix that and will do so again now as we look to emerge from the first quarter of 2021 we imagined would have been easier but is still beginning to show pinpoints of optimism.
“As sport in Ireland begins to look to life after lockdown, this next wave of our research with Sport for Business members aims to widen the lens on the forces impacting key decision-makers,” said John Trainor, CEO of Onside.
“It will help us to explore new challenges and opportunities on the horizon – from paywalls to pay platforms such as non-fungible tokens.”
“Our goal is to produce relevant and actionable intelligence around where revenue opportunities may be for sponsors, rights holders and agencies as sport enters a new digitally enhanced age, and explore when and where sport can take advantage”.
The survey is available exclusively to full members of the Sport for Business community and the full findings will be made available to all those who complete the survey.
