Leopardstown Racecourse has confirmed a new sponsorship deal with CMG Group, who will take over naming rights for the historic Kilternan Stakes.

The race, now titled The CMG Group Stakes, will be run on September 13th as part of Day One of the Irish Champions Festival, one of the premier fixtures on the Irish racing calendar.

The CMG Group is a leading provider of professional education, leadership development, consultancy services, and high-profile events. They have worked with sporting organisations in the past, including Special Olympics Ireland.

“Sponsoring the CMG Group Stakes is a fantastic opportunity for the CMG Group to continue to elevate our brand,” said Tony Cantwell, Founder of CMG Group.

“Championing success is at the heart of what we do, and sponsoring a race of this quality on Champions Weekend allows us to extend that ethos into the sporting arena and connect with a community that values high performance and pride in Irish talent.”

The Kilternan Stakes, first run in 1965 and traditionally contested over a mile and a quarter, has long been a highlight of Leopardstown’s racing calendar. It has served as a key platform for emerging and established talent, and the new sponsorship aims to bring renewed energy and visibility to the event.

Vicki Donlon, Interim CEO of Leopardstown Racecourse, welcomed the partnership, noting the synergy between the two organisations.

“We are delighted to welcome CMG Group as the sponsor of this prestigious race,” she said. “Their involvement brings fresh energy and support to the Irish Champions Festival, and we are excited to work together to create a memorable event for racegoers, owners, and trainers alike.”

The addition of CMG Group to the sponsorship roster further strengthens the commercial appeal of the Irish Champions Festival, which is already backed by a range of prominent partners, including the Irish Champion Stakes title sponsor, the Royal Bahrain Jockey Club, Coolmore, KPMG, Paddy Power, and Goffs.
