The British and Irish Lions game against Argentina may not have produced the result that the sell-out crowd, many of whom had travelled from Britain, were looking for, but it was another winner for Irish language broadcaster TG4 and Production company Iris Productions.

TG4 broadcast exclusive free-to-air live coverage of the match in a historic first co-production partnership with S4C.

The game was broadcast live and free-to-air exclusively on TG4 in Ireland and S4C in the UK, kicking off the Lions tour under Head Coach Andy Farrell.=

Gemma Ní Chionnaith and Cuán Ó Flatharta lead TG4’s coverage, joined by a panel of expert analysts providing in-depth insight and commentary across all TG4 platforms. Production was provided by the Royal Television Society Award winning team behind Rugbaí Beo from IRIS Productions.

“This was a fantastic opportunity to showcase top-level rugby and celebrate the strong connection between our nations through sport,” said Rónán Ó Coisdealbha, Head of Sport at TG4.

The remainder of the Tour will be broadcast on Sky Sports.
