The growing momentum of padel in Ireland has received another major boost this week with the announcement that Raisin, the leading pan-European savings and investment marketplace, has signed on as the official sponsor of the Irish Veterans Team at the FIP Senior Euro Padel Cup in Valencia, Spain.

The tournament, which began today, brings together some of the top senior players from across Europe. Ireland has sent its biggest delegation yet, with more than 30 players competing across a range of categories.

The support from Raisin will not only assist the veterans’ team as they compete this week, but will also contribute more broadly to the development of the game.

Funding from the partnership will go towards grassroots programmes, elite player support, and the continued expansion of the Irish Padel Tour, which has enjoyed record-breaking participation numbers in recent seasons. The Tour has quickly become a focal point for domestic players and fans, providing a competitive platform while building the sport’s community.

“Padel is a sport that rewards patience, focus and long-term commitment,” said Eoghan O’Hara, Country Head for Raisin Ireland.

“Those are values that also underpin how we help people save and invest for their future. We are proud to support Ireland’s veterans and to contribute to the exciting journey of padel as it grows in popularity across the country.”

Naomi Nicholl, President of the PFI, welcomed the announcement:

“This partnership provides vital resources to nurture local talent, strengthen Ireland’s presence at the European level, and build a sustainable future for padel at every level,” added Naomi Nichol, President of the Padel Federation of Ireland.

“We are immensely proud of the team representing us in Valencia and of the support that makes it possible.”

Nicholl also highlighted how the sponsorship helps the federation in its wider mission to ensure that players of all ages and abilities can access the sport. With participation numbers soaring, partnerships of this kind are becoming essential to keep pace with demand and to provide pathways for players to progress from local clubs to international representation.

Next month, the Irish Padel Open takes place in Limerick, drawing international players and showcasing Ireland’s capacity to host major events. The tournament is expected to be one of the highlights of the Irish sporting summer, further cementing padel’s position as a sport on the rise.
