Powerade is returning to its grassroots theme by offering the chance for four Irish Olympic fans to run 100 metres at the London Olympic Stadium.  Four regional events will be held at Sligo, Antrim, Cork and Santry with each participant on the day being entered for a draw to win one of the places.
They will also be given a Powerade Olympic Sport Bottle, preparation, warm up and nutrition tips on the day.
The winners will travel to London on May 3rd where they will meet Powerade Brand Ambassador Derval O’Rourke, take a tour of the stadium and then run their own 100 metres on the Olympic track.
The Irish events take place on April 14th and 21st and registration to take part needs to be completed in advance at www.powerade.ie/onyourmarks.
Between 2007 and 2009 Powerade ran a very successful ‘Never Give Up’ campaign specific to the Irish market.  They followed a first time Triathlon competitor, a Cavan GAA team and three Ultra marathon novices as they each prepared for their sporting challenges.  The campaign won numerous international awards and generated a 47% increase in sales.
