RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player will have live coverage of all of Ireland Women’s Six Nations matches in what is a crucial campaign for the team as they try to build momentum towards qualification for the 2021 World Cup in New Zealand.
This is the tenth year of coverage on the national broadcaster and will be backed up by live coverage as well of each game in the Irish U20’s campaign as they defend their 2019 Grand Slam.
Coverage of the U20’s begins on Friday night with the game against Scotland at Irish Independent Park with Fiona Coghlan and Bernard Jackman joining Daire O’Brien for the coverage.
On Sunday 2nd February there will be full coverage of Ireland v Scotland live from Energia Park when Niamh Briggs and Fiona Steed will join presenter Daire O’Brien alongside Eddie O’Sullivan in analysis with Fiona Coghlan and Des Curran on commentary.
In addition to the Irish games, RTÉ Player will also carry live coverage of all the other games in the Women’s Six Nations kicking off this Sunday (2nd February) with Wales v Italy and France v England.
Ireland Women v Scotland will also be live on RTÉ Radio 1 Extra on Sunday (2nd February). Grace Davitt will be on commentary alongside Michael Corcoran with live reports on Sunday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1.
RTÉ Radio is the exclusive home of the Men’s 6 Nations Championship with all of the Irish games live across RTE Radio 1 or 2FM. Guests will include Fiona Coghlan, Lynne Cantwell, Paddy Wallace and Bernard Jackman. The familiar tones of Michael Corcoran will be on commentary duty on all the matches alongside Donal Lenihan.
TV coverage of the Men’s Six Nations will be on Virgin Media One throughout the Guinness Six Nations, led by Joe Molloy with Dave McIntyre on commentary for the Ireland games.
This is the third year of Virgin Media’s coverage of the tournament.
In other coverage on RTÉ, Against the Head continues on Monday evenings on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player at 8 pm looking back at all the weekend’s action and previewing the next round of games in the Women’s, U20s and Men’s Six Nations championships.
Virgin Media will debut their magazine show on the tournament featuring Greg O’Shea, Muireann O’Connell and special guests which tonight will include Rob Kearney. The Line Out kicks off at 10 pm tonight following on from Love Island and so guaranteeing a strong handover audience.
Game On, on RTÉ Radio 2FM had Paul O’Connell on the show last night and will have features, analysis and special guests throughout the Championships.
