Shelbourne FC have had a pretty good couple of weeks, highlighted by qualifying for the group stages and capped off yesterday with the confirmation of €3 million in fresh investment from the club’s stakeholders, Mickey O’Rourke, Cathal Doyle and Neil Doyle.

According to reports in the Irish Independent, the Doyle Brothers have invested an additional €2.25 million, increasing their stake to 41 per cent. At the same time, O’Rourke, the main shareholder in Premier Sports, will now hold 49 per cent of the club, having invested an additional €750,000.

Completed before last week’s triumph in Windsor Park, the investment signals continued financial commitment to the club’s on and off-field progress and is part of an overall three-year funding plan.

“Our shareholders continue to demonstrate their commitment to developing the foundations of long-term and sustained success,” said Tomás Quinn, CEO.

“This investment will allow us to continue our focus on developing facilities both at our training ground and at Tolka Park alongside the elevation of our football departments both at Academy and Senior Levels.”

“We will also continue to develop our commercial and core business operations backed by this significant investment. I’m excited to continue our work together at this exciting time for the club.”

Shelbourne signed a new partnership with Neary’s Car Dealership last week, with branding, promotional rights, and joint initiatives forming key elements of the collaboration.

“I’m delighted to see this continued investment into the club, and it highlights the passion our shareholders have for seeing the club develop and elevate both on and off the pitch,” added Luke Byrne, Technical Director.

“I look forward to continuing to work closely with them as we continue to build on our success to date.”
