EuroSurf Junior Championships — Bundoran, Co Donegal

Bundoran is hosting the European Junior Surfing Championships for the first time in Ireland. Teams from 20 nations are due to compete across under-16, under-18 and junior longboard divisions, with action centred on The Peak and Tullan Strand. It is a rare chance to see Europe’s emerging surfers on Irish waves, while the visitors bring an international sporting occasion to the northwest. Connacht v DHL Stormers — Dexcom Stadium, Galway

Start the weekend under the lights in Galway as Connacht open their URC season against South African opposition. The Stormers’ visit gives Connacht an immediate test and brings international club rugby to the west on the first night of the new campaign.
