Republic of Ireland captain Seamus Coleman will miss next week’s Euro 2024 Qualifiers against France and the Netherland sand almost certainly the games next month against Greece and Gibraltar.
His knee injury sustained at the end of last season has restricted his time on the pitch but given him more time at home with his three kids and they were part of the conversation around the launch yesterday of SPAR’s Better Choices Back to School campaign.
Coleman is a long standing brand ambassador and was able to understand better than many the benefits of the campaign which aims to give a helping hand to the next generation when it comes to learning about healthy food and healthy lifestyles.
SPAR has created a series of easy, accessible breakfast and lunch box recipes for children to make at home. The recipes include No Bake Breakfast Bars, Funny Faced Sambos and Veggie Dib Dabs, all designed with simplicity at their core.
SPAR is inviting budding chefs nationwide to put their own twist on the Better Choices recipes for a chance to win one of five SPAR Better Choices Little Chefs’ cooking kits that includes a chef’s apron and chef’s hat along with sandwich shapes and cookie cutters, vegetable cutters and Bento decorations.
Parents can snap a photo of their little chef’s creations and upload it to SPAR’s Facebook or Instagram pages.
“I’m delighted to continue my long-term involvement with SPAR to highlight the SPAR Better Choices message and promote the importance of healthy eating,” said Coleman.
“With three daughters at home, I appreciate the difficulties parents can have choosing between the convenient or nutritious option when preparing a meal, particularly when trying to get back into a back-to-school routine.”
“The SPAR Better Choices recipes manage to tick both those boxes while making food preparation fun, meaning that making breakfast or lunch can be a wholesome family activity.”
“At SPAR we understand that the back-to-school period can be stressful for parents,” added SPAR Sales Director Colin Donnelly.
“Through our Better Choices Programme we aim to offer quick, nutritious and affordable solutions that are easy to find in store and take the hassle out of mealtimes, both at home and in school.”
