Sport for Business and Leading Sport will host an in-person event looking at the Business of Sport in Cork on the morning of Tuesday 5th April 2022 at the National Rowing Centre in Ovens, County Cork.
Our latest confirmed speaker is Sharon Lancaster, Brand Manager with Sports Direct on how the brand has positioned itself with club and county as well as in the competitive sports retail space with its premises at Mahon Point and Ballincollig.
Our other confirmed speakers at the event are Michelle Carpenter, CEO of Rowing Ireland who will talk about what is next for the sport after two successful Olympic Cycles and continued growth at home; and Philip Quinn, Chief Operating Officer at Munster Rugby who will be talking about the ways in which Musgrave Park has become a best in class venue and much more besides.
This will be an opportunity to meet with sporting and business leaders who are based in the city and county or who have a strong interest in what is happening across the region.
We will be announcing two more top-class speakers in the coming days.
There will also be an opportunity as a group to set some of the priorities that sport in Cork should be seeking to address over the next twelve months and beyond.
There will also be a chance to see and be guided around the epicentre of Irish Rowing and the base of its immense success at European, World and Olympic levels over the past decade.
We will meet, chat, forge new connections and discuss some of the issues that are of interest and concern across sport and commercial partnerships.
The session will get underway with refreshments and networking at 0930 and the discussions getting underway from 10 AM until 12:30 PM
