Sports technology startup, and member of Sport for Business, SportsVisio has announced an additional $3.2 million in funding, bringing its total capital raised to over $9 million.

The company’s technology captures live gameplay using computer vision and artificial intelligence, automatically generating video highlights and real-time statistics.

This capability enables coaches and athletes at all levels — from grassroots to professional — to analyse performance, share content, and make data-informed decisions.

The company has gained traction by offering features traditionally reserved for professional sports teams to youth and amateur organisations, making performance analytics and highlight creation widely available and easy to use. Its user base continues to grow, reflecting a strong demand for AI-driven solutions in the sports industry.

The company will utilise the new funding to accelerate its sales and marketing activities and scale its offerings across multiple sports, including basketball, volleyball, and new entries such as baseball. The company’s platform already serves over 16,000 users across 150 leagues, clubs, and teams in 16 countries.

CEO and founder Jason Syversen stated that the investment and strategic guidance would play a crucial role in expanding the company’s reach and capabilities.

“This funding and strategic guidance will help us to expand on our mission to provide smarter, AI-driven solutions that help teams and players win—on and off the court,” he said.

Product Developments

The funding announcement follows a period of significant product development and expansion for SportsVisio. Three major milestones were recently achieved, underlining the company’s commitment to providing innovative tools tailored to specific sports.

The first was the launch of Coach Mode, a feature designed to provide deeper insights into player performance, team trends, and game flow. Tailored for coaches, the tool helps inform tactical decisions with advanced data visualizations and automated highlights.

Secondly, the company unveiled its fully featured volleyball platform, enabling automated AI-driven stats and highlight generation. With volleyball being one of the fastest-growing sports globally, this expansion opens the door to significant user growth and adoption.

Thirdly, SportsVisio introduced a dedicated 3×3 basketball product. This format, known for its rapid pace and rising popularity, now benefits from automated video and statistical analysis tailored to its unique dynamics.

Funding Partners

The latest round includes continued backing from existing investors Sapphire Sport, Hyperplane, and Sovereign’s Capital, while welcoming new investors such as Mighty Capital, Sony Innovation Fund, Alumni Ventures, Waterstone Impact Fund, and several strategic angel investors.

The inclusion of the Sony Innovation Fund marks a significant development for the company, reflecting growing confidence in SportsVisio’s mission to reshape how sports are captured, analyzed, and shared. Sony Innovation Fund’s participation brings added value through its expertise at the intersection of content, entertainment, and emerging technology, aligning closely with SportsVisio’s vision.

Austin Noronha, Managing Director of Sony Ventures U.S., emphasized SportsVisio’s potential to democratize professional-grade sports tools: “Their AI-driven platform delivers professional-grade tools to youth and amateur athletes, transforming how sports moments are captured and shared. We’re excited to back a team that’s expanding access to high-quality sports content and empowering the next generation of athletes.”

Mighty Capital, another key participant in this round, highlighted the company’s strong engagement and user adoption as indicators of lasting value. General Partner Jennifer Vancini described SportsVisio as a product that athletes and coaches love, underpinned by a combination of advanced AI technology and an intuitive user experience.
