Staycity Aparthotels has launched a new matchday-inspired “GAAfternoon Tea” experience in Dublin, putting a playful twist on one of the rituals of championship season.

The official sponsor of Dublin GAA has teamed up with Gourmet Food Parlour, the county’s official nutritional meal partner, to reimagine familiar matchday staples including Barry’s Tea, Tayto crisps, snack bars and sandwiches as part of a pre-match afternoon tea experience.

Available exclusively at Staycity’s Dublin City Centre location across key championship weekends from May 17th, the GAAfternoon Tea is aimed at fans travelling to Dublin for matches at Croke Park, or those making a full weekend of the occasion.

To mark the launch, Dublin players Eoin Murchan, Leah Caffrey, Donal Burke and Sinéad Wylde joined Staycity ambassador James Kavanagh in Phoenix Park for their own taste of the new experience.

“Matchday in Ireland is about so much more than the game, it’s the build-up, the food, and the whole atmosphere around it,” said James Kavanagh, content creator and Staycity Aparthotel ambassador.

“I love that Staycity have taken those familiar favourites and turned them into something really fun with GAAfternoon Tea. It’s nostalgic, it’s social and it’s a great way to soak up the championship buzz.”

The experience blends the tradition of afternoon tea with the unmistakable flavours of a GAA matchday, offering fans a nostalgic new way to fuel up before heading to Croke Park.

We can only hope that it will include the sandwiches will be mainly ham.
