The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted a memorable first official Draft Party presented by Aer Lingus at Croke Park, on Saturday night marking a major moment in the lead-up to the 2025 NFL Dublin Game this autumn.
Held in the iconic Croke Park stadium, where the Steelers are set to play later this year, the event brought fans together to celebrate Day 3 of the NFL Draft, with the action broadcast on large screens and a festive atmosphere powered by live music, food, drinks, prizes, and the undeniable energy of Steelers Nation.
The night’s highlight came when Steelers Legend Brett Keisel announced from the Croke Park stage that Yahya Black from the University of Iowa has been selected as the 164th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
There was also a major buzz when the date for the fixture release of the regular games was pegged for Wednesday May 14th at 8PM Eastern, 1 AM on Thursday, may 15th in Ireland.
That is when we will get confirmation of the game date for the Steelers game at Croke Park this autumn.
The NFL Draft is an annual 3-day event, comprised of 7 rounds where each of the 32 NFL teams can recruit up and coming American football players and offer them spots on their roster. This year’ Draft took place from the Thursday to Saturday in Green Bay, Wisconsin and at its peak, the event was watched by over 54 million people.
‘It was amazing to be in Croke Park and meet some of Steelers Nation Ireland. They are so passionate about the Steelers and football, and I can’t wait to see them fill up Croke Park for the game here later this year’ said Brett Keisel, following the announcement.
Long-time, dedicated Steelers fan, Tom McCormack, from Dublin, was selected as the Steelers’ 2024 International Fan of the Year and travelled to both Pittsburgh and Green Bay last weekend.
He got to see some of Pittsburgh’s iconic sites, including Fort Duquesne bridge, Cork Harbour and of course Acrisure Stadium, home of the Steelers. He then travelled onto Green Bay, where he was joined by 31 nominees, one from every team and announced that Will Howard, from Ohio State has been selected as the 185th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft live on stage.
