Tiernan Harris
Tiernan Harris is the Administrator for Squash Ireland, a position he has held since July 2023.
His remit covers everything connected with membership, club affiliation, coaching education and events.
In 2024, Tiernan was in charge of developing the new Squash Ireland website and serves as social media manager, where he has continually delivered in our Monthly Irish Sport on Social media Reports.
He is the driving force behind the development of coaching programmes, including the new DOT Squash—a pack of resources to coach kids of different ages in squash—and the Leadership course.
He secured funding under the EU Erasmus+ programme to provide 10 coaches with an opportunity to learn from squash experts in Europe and bring their expertise and knowledge back to Ireland.
Away from the sport, he advocates for mental health and well-being. As such, he co-founded the Normal project, which was born from his passion for helping young people improve their mental well-being.
Tiernan graduated in Global Commerce from the University of Galway and secured a Master’s in Sports Management at UCD.
In addition to all of that, he is currently undertaking a sports management PhD in UCD’s School of Public Health, Physiotherapy, and Sports Science, focusing on Football and sporting directors and multi-club ownership, while working full time for Squash Ireland.
