It is a packed weekend of sport, but for the sheer joy of being close to some world stars, Carton House will be the place to be, as it has been through the week so far.

The sun has shone, the crowds have come, the players have signed their names more times in a day than they might have done all season so far, and at the end of Day one, six of the 16 Irish players in the field were under par.

Leona Maguire and Áine Donegan are among them, just behind Emma Fleming from Elm Park in contention as the leading amateur.

Solheim Cup stars Charley Hull and Georgia Hall are in the mix as well.

All of them have also been sharing stories in the KPMG Clubhouse conversations that we have been hosting in the Hospitality area. They were joined yesterday by Marissa Carter of Cocoa Brown, the tournament’s first Official Beauty partner as well.

Today it will be the turn of Irish Astronaut Dr Nora Patten, as a guest of McCann Fitzgerald, Paul McGinley as a guest of BMW and Charley Hull as a guest of KPMG that will be joining us.

Over 40,000 fans will be on course over the weekend, to be inspired by brilliant golf and fantastic engagement.

If you fancy seeing sport at its best this is it.
