Toyota Ireland is to sponsor the  flagship event for Women’s cricket in Ireland in a new four year deal announced yesterday.

The sponsorship will see the tournament renamed the Toyota Super 3s. It involves players selected from their clubs to represent one of three teams managed centrally and competing against each other in a crucial step between club and international representative cricket.

The announcement follows the recent renewal of Toyota Ireland’s partnership with Cricket Ireland for a further four years. This relationship sees Toyota provide operational and business support to Cricket Ireland, through its sponsorship of both the men’s and women’s international teams and contribution to the strategic development programme for the sport in Ireland.

“Toyota Ireland is delighted to provide further support to Cricket Ireland and the Super 3’s series in becoming title sponsors of the competition,” said Ian Corbett, Marketing Manager for Toyota Ireland.

“Cricket continues to grow from strength to strength here in Ireland and we are proud of our association with the women’s game at an international level, but also at domestic level as we look forward to an exciting four years of the Toyota Super 3’s.”

“We are delighted to see Toyota broaden their partnership with Cricket Ireland by becoming the title sponsors of the Toyota Super 3s,” added Dennis Cousins, Commercial Director of Cricket Ireland.

“Having another mainstream brand like Toyota deepening their relationship with us and supporting the Super 3s series is strategically very important to Cricket Ireland as it fits in with our vision of making cricket mainstream in Ireland.”

Toyota is also a partner of Dublin GAA and Paralympics Ireland in addition to working with individual ambassadors to promote the brand.

Kia England Women's CricketThe rise in importance to sponsors of Women’s sport is highlighted further by Kia announcing an extension of it’s support for Women’s cricket in England on the same day.  The brand has had a similar longer term relationship with cricket across the water and is now extending its relationship with the Women’s game through providing cars to centrally contracted players, gaining a number of rights around promotional opportunities and taking on title rights for the domestic Women’s competition there as well.
