Back to back matches at the Aviva Stadium has given Ulster Bank the opportunity to spend a week on the road activating its involvement with the RBS Six Nations and the Irish Rugby Football Union.The Ulster Bank/RBS 6 Nations Trophy Tour was in and around Dublin on Monday and went north yesterday to Belfast and Lisburn. It goes to the midlands today before swinging south towards Cork on Thursday and returning to Dublin on Friday with Temple Street Children’s Hospital one of the stops on its itinerary.
The tour is being tracked on twitter and facebook and offers the chance for fans and players to get up close with the Six Nations and Triple Crown trophies as well as legends of the game which to date have included Alan Quinlan, John Hayes, Stephen Ferris and Reggie Corrigan.
Ulster Bank is starting out on the fourth year of its relationship as official community partner of the IRFU. It supports the Ulster Bank League and associated awards and has just opened another round of Ulster Bank Rugby Force which encourages clubs to pull together in renovating premises and developing new facilities.
A total of €30,000 will be distributed with provincial cash prizes of €5,000 and one overall winner getting twice that and a special training session run by IRFU contracted coaches and players.
Ulster Bank’s activation across rugby and the GAA won a major CSR award last September.
