Volleyball Ireland is gearing up for a sold-out International this weekend, with the Republic of Ireland taking on Northern Ireland across four age grades.

It is a welcome return for the traditional annual St Patrick’s challenge and will take place at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena on Saturday, March 12th

The Under 20 Men kick off the action at 10-30 AM followed by the Under 19 Women at 1 PM, the Senior Women at 3-30 PM and the Senior Men at 6 PM.

The event kicks off a busy International calendar with the same venue hosting the Under 20 Men’s Small Nations Championships in April.

The Under 19 Women head to Luxembourg for the same competition before the Senior team travels to Iceland in May.

The Under 22 Men will then make history in Rome in May when they compete in the European Championships for the very first time. Andrei Molnar’s team will also face Portugal and Israel over three days.

“We can’t wait to get back on the court this weekend,” said Volleyball Ireland CEO Gary Stewart.

“The event will be electric with a sell-out venue. Our strategy is to really maximise events like this to showcase the sport to spectators and commercial partners and to demonstrate both live and on the stream that Volleyball is an exciting and dynamic sport and worth backing.”

“It will be a great day out and I’d urge anyone who maybe follows the Volleyball at the Olympics to head to D15 this weekend or give the VLY YouTube channel a follow.”

The games will be supported by fun games and challenges for kids in between matches and there will be a collection of supporter merchandise on sale.
