More than 70 children of all abilities took part in a special Inclusive Kellogg’s Cúl Camp at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, celebrating the joy of Gaelic games and the importance of inclusion in sport.
The camp drew participants from across Cork, with children representing clubs including Newcestown, Valley Rovers, Ballinhassig, Douglas, Midleton, Fermoy, and Nemo Rangers.
They were supported by a team of volunteers from PepsiCo Little Island. The initiative combined sporting activities with sustainability-themed learning experiences.
Volunteers engaged children through interactive games designed to build awareness of environmental issues. Activities ranged from “Spin the Wheel,” where participants sorted common household waste into recycling, compost, or general waste, to “Green Team SNAP” and quizzes promoting greener living.
“I want to extend our deepest gratitude for PepsiCo’s generous support in providing volunteers for our summer Inclusive Camp,” said Paudie Crowley, Games Development Lead at Cork GAA.
“The team’s enthusiasm, compassion and dedication had a profound impact on our campers and staff alike.”
“Thanks to the volunteers, we were able to create a welcoming and joyful environment where every participant felt valued, supported and empowered to be themselves.”
“Seeing our colleagues connect with the children through games and conversations was inspiring,” added Devan O’Donnell, HR Assistant Business Partner at PepsiCo.
“This camp reflects the values we care about at PepsiCo – creating opportunities for inclusion and supporting young people in our community.”
“The campers showed us what real fun and teamwork look like. It was heartwarming to see their joy while also learning together about protecting our environment.”
