It has been building up to this weekend for four years. When Ireland take on South Africa in Paris it will bring the top two teams in the world to face each other much earlier in the tournament than either would be comfortable with but which will make for the most electric atmosphere.
Defeat will not be fatal but it will mean at best a date with France in the Quarter finals and at worst a win or go home clash with Scotland.
The stakes could hardly be higher.
