all-ireland-ladies-football-croke-park-crowdToday is the last day for applications for the position of part time Government support scheme administrator, working with both the Camogie Association and Ladies Football.

The new position will be to manage and administer the Sport Ireland funding going towards player development across both sports arising from the Government announcement of increased funding for Women’s Gaelic Games players in 2016.

The money, which will rise to €1 million over the next two years, is an indicator of the recognition that exists at national level for the contribution of Camogie and Ladies Football players to their sport and their commitment to play the game at highest level possible.

The Support will have four elements: Injury Prevention and Medical Cover, Maximising Player and Team Performance, Access to Training Facilities and National Administration and Governance.

The Camogie Association and Ladies Gaelic Football Association will receive and account for the funding received from Sport Ireland annually.

Communication with counties and logistical distribution of the funding will be the responsibility of the new administrator with an immediate start sought.

Reporting to the Chief Executives of the Ladies Gaelic Football and Camogie Associations the key elements of the job will be initially to:

  • Initial set up of system for submission of Government Scheme Grants
  • Providing general administrative support to the counties in relation to the Government Support Scheme
  • Delivering excellent customer service through the management of all queries received in relation to the scheme and ensuring they are directed to the correct area, tracked and resolved efficiently.
  • Ensuring that counties submit their grant applications on agreed timescale
  • Receiving and processing all applications in relation to the government support scheme
  • Liaising with county executives, management teams and player representatives in relation to scheme
  • Setting up processes for delivery of payments to counties
  • Reporting to Scheme Implementation Group in relation to all elements of the scheme
