aThis weekend sees the culmination of both the Allianz Hurling and Football Finals in Croke Park and it was the turn of the hurlers yesterday to do their bit in promoting the games.
The ferocity of competition in hurling over the past year has been such that it needs little by way of artificial excitement but we do still particularly like the imagery that was created for the event yesterday by Brendan Moran from Sportsfile.
The mud, the intensity, the broken hurl, and of course the Allianz branding make the picture stand out, and will appear across the print and online media today.
We are fortunate to have two such strong live action and corporate photography firms in Sportsfile and Inpho Photography to help bring the big moments to life in advance and recorded for history.
It is also a rarity to see the best of hurling and football on the one stage on the one day. Today will be the chance for the footballers of Kerry and Mayo to submit themselves to the lens and the scrutiny of the media.
There will be no broken hurl to use as a prop but we have no doubt that will not prevent imaginations running as fast as a full forward bearing down on goal.
