Sport for Business will be joined on the main stage of the Predict Data Analytics conference in Dublin today by Grainne Barry of Stats and SportsTech Ireland and Simon Long of the Sports Consultancy in London.

Together we will be shining a light on the world of data in sport covering areas from performance and fan engagement through to the ways that sporting bodies and teams are using richer data to enhance the business of sport.

Among the questions, we will look to address are which sports and organisations are leading the way when it comes to use of data; what are some of the key developments in sport over the past twelve and indeed the next twelve months; and how the next generation of sports fans are likely to engage with sport.

It is always fascinating to look at the ways in which our world is changing and the pace of acceleration in the field of how we use data is one that no one can afford to be unaware of.

We will look back tomorrow morning on the areas we cover today.

In the meantime you can take a look back on what we discussed last year with Ray Boyne of Dublin GAA, Lisa Fallon of Cork City FC and the Northern Ireland Football team and Alan Swanton from the Sport Ireland Institute of Sport.
