Rob Purcell – Cara
Rob Purcell is the Insights Researcher for Cara Sport Inclusion Ireland, with the goal of gaining key insights from stakeholders, in particular people with disabilities, to enable Cara to better support the sector.
Having studied Health and Leisure at MTU (then IT Tralee) where he graduated with First-Class Honours, he then received a research scholarship from MTU to complete his MSc.
The research project he completed involved the evaluation of an HSE led physical activity programme for older adults which enabled him to witness first-hand the value of working with groups who are typically less active and the benefit that this can have.
Purcell joined Cara Sport Inclusion Ireland in 2021 where he has begun work on a really important consultation project to capture the voice of people with disabilities and their experiences with physical activity.
The insights gained from this process will be vital in identifying the direction of Cara as an organisation over the next several years.
