There is a reluctance in the GAA to give too much credit to the flair players, the ones who stand apart from the team, the ones who’d worry more about their hair than tracking back.
Or maybe that’s all about to change.
Seamus Callanan and Sean Walsh were lighting fireworks on the beach yesterday as part of a campaign by Elverys Intersport to launch a new #BringTheColour campaign.
“#BringTheColour is a nationwide campaign aimed at celebrating the individuality of the players who are not afraid to stand out on the pitch through their performances and also through their vibrant selection of boot styles and colours,” said the statement accompanying the pictures.
When you do put your hand up to say you’re a star you need to deliver. Fair play to Callahan and Walsh for doing that and it will be interesting to see how the campaign develops on social media through the coming weeks.
