Continental Euro BannerHyundai Ireland has been named as the sponsor of RTÉ Sport’s coverage of EURO 2016 across all platforms on television, radio, mobile, online and the RTÉ Player.

RTÉ Sport’s coverage will include the live broadcast of 31 matches* including all of the Republic of Ireland’s games and the European Championships Final, across RTÉ2 and online on RTÉ.ie and RTÉ Player where they will also be available for catch-up.

In addition, Ireland’s UEFA EURO 2016 games will be exclusively live on RTÉ Radio 1 and daily UEFA EURO 2016 newsdesks across both RTÉ Radio 1 and RTÉ 2FM will provide the latest news and updates.

“This partnership signifies Hyundai’s continued commitment behind the growth of the Hyundai brand on the Irish market and working with RTE to achieve this through its key audience reach,” said Sarah hayes, Marketing Director of Hyundai Ireland.

“Offering cut-through across all platforms under one brand is RTÉ’s unique offering,” said Dermot Rigley,  Commercial Manager, RTÉ Sport.

“EURO 2016 remains on terrestrial free-to-air television and Hyundai Ireland has secured a powerful association with UEFA EURO 2016 across all of RTÉ’s market-leading platforms.”

“This partnership is a great endorsement of RTÉ Sport’s output and its powerful audience reach and we’re delighted to welcome Hyundai Ireland on board”.

Hyundai Ireland is returning to RTÉ football coverage sponsorship after also supporting the FIFA World Cup coverage in 2014.

With Ireland competing this time around the viewing figures will likely be higher again and it comes at a perfect time as all auto brands make a major sales push around 162 registration sales.

New car registrations this year are 26% ahead of 2015, reflecting a general rise in economic activity.  Hyundai is the top selling brand in Ireland this year with the Tucson the largest selling individual model.

Hyundai’s presence will include stings on television and radio, sponsorship of the online and mobile coverage as well as pre-roll ads on live streaming and playback on the RT Player.
