
The airline is expected to produce a marketing campaign around its support for the athletes and will now be central to the iconic milestones of the team’s departure and return home from the games.
“This is very significant partnership for both the OCI and Aer Lingus as Team Ireland gets set to go for gold at what is effectively a home Olympics for us in London,” said OCI President, Pat Hickey. “The support of our national airline is very appropriate for our London team and is another very positive show of national confidence in our athletes.”
Aer Lingus joins Electric Ireland, Kia Motors and Mater Private Healthcare as supporters of Team Ireland. The main Olympic partners active in Ireland include Coca Cola, McDonalds, Samsung, Cadbury and P&G.
